Overview:
Over the past several years, a great deal of information has become available about health care, the need for reform and the three legs of the health care system stool: those being access, quality and value.

Until now, with the Spectrum Health Value Study, there have been no data on how Americans value the various health services, products and programs that make up the U.S. health care system as they consider spending their own money.

This report shows that of all health care services, programs and products, the three most highly valued attributes are (ranked in order of importance):

  1. Access to a physician in a doctor's office;
  2. Access to hospital services;
  3. Access to emergency room services.

Additional details, charts, and other data on specifics on Americans' valuation of access in health care are provided in the full report.
